Today was our first annual Flo Crit Day at the Capitol and it was AWESOME! Teen moms from the Honors Lit. and Civics classes watched the legislative debate (and were publicly recognized by Rep. Duran) before hearing from state legislators about the law-making process and speaking to them about issues that affect teen moms. In particular, they reinforced House Bill 16-1227, which would exempt teen parents from having to file for child support in order to receive CCAP assistance.
Reporters from Chalkbeat Colorado, Telemundo, and 7News attended the event as well. Watch the news tonight… you might see our girls!
